Peaceful Nature Stroll In Bedfont Lakes
Join us for a some peace & quiet in the natural reserve at Bedfont Lakes. - This is the 3rd time to get a dry day & the long range forecast says sunny. Fingers crossed!!!
The park is open from 8:00am (though gates are usually open by 7:30am for those early risers!) There are two entrances to the park, Clockhouse Lane and Bedfont Road. Both entrances have car parks which are free of charge for park users. The H26 bus stops directly outside the Bedfont Road entrance. Other bus routes include 116 and H25- these buses stop at Bedfont Green and it is a 15 minute walk to the park. Feltham and Ashford are the nearest rail stations, and Hatton Cross the nearest Tube line.
The paths around the park are flat and sturdy, though please note that wear and tear has left some major pot holes. You will see on your visit that repairs works are underway (and hopefully will be complete soon!) There are also grass paths around the site that are kept well maintained and the grass and overhanging vegetation are kept clear and accessible.
The park facilities include male, female and a disabled toilet, open from 8:00am-4:30pm. The toilets are situated at the Clockhouse Lane entrance to the park, inside the information centre. The centre is open to public on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 1:30pm-4:00pm. There is a bird feeding platform over the South Lake as well as a public nature reserve (grass path) with two bird hides to overlook the lake. We also have a members only private nature reserve situated just past the Clockhouse Lane overflow car park. Entrance to this reserve (which also compromises of two bird hides) cost £15 for the year per family. You can sign up in the information centre and will be given the access code to explore in here.
NB We will meet at 2 pm at the Clockhouse Lane entrance, to access facilities. We will wait 15 minutes in case of hold ups, or a bit longer if someone rings to ask. Do wear sturdy, comfortable footwear & weather appropriate clothing. Please bring water/drinks for yourself & snacks as there is no café open at this time. IF pouring with rain we will cancel but will continue if just showers. Don’t forget to bring binoculars &/or a camera as it’s a great place for nature!
Please ensure you let Margaret Smith know if you are coming, as we need a minimum of 3 to run this event. Contact her on 07834388018 for more information.

WNH Peace & Nature Visit To Bedfont Lakes
Join us for a some peace & quiet in the natural park at Bedfont Lakes.

Ealing Blues Festival 2019

Founded in 1987, Ealing Blues Festival has developed in partnership with Ealing Council & The Event Umbrella to become one of the biggest blues festivals in the UK. It continues the borough’s rich musical fabric that began at the Ealing Club in 1962 where the likes of The Who, The Rolling Stones, and CREAM members Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton cut their teeth.
IT's held in Walpole Park, Ealing & our visit would be on Saturday 20 July from about 2 pm onwards. The site has a lot of refreshment stalls, including ice cream, alcohol & soft drinks, along with crafts, jewellery, clothes & other interesting items.
Tickets cost £5.50 for the day which starts at midday through to late evening. We will meet near the ticket office at 2 pm, though you are welcome to go earlier & find us inside.
If hot, do bring a rug or folding chair to sit on. If wet, wear wellies/boots, waterproofs but you can take shelter in the music tents. Contact Margaret on 07834388018 for further info.

View For Free – Amazing Glass Exhibition Returns To Kew!
Breathtaking artwork - it really is! "I saw his last exhibition at Kew, its all blown glass, in incredible colours, shapes & sizes. Make sure you bring a camera." Margaret Smith, Wellbeing Network Partner.
In the most biodiverse place in the world, you will see the perfect marriage of art, science and nature as Chihuly's dazzling sculptures transform our Gardens and glasshouses into a contemporary outdoor gallery space.
Unique art installations will be situated across the grounds, including the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanical Art. You can experience his Drawings and Rotolo series- the most technically challenging work Chihuly has ever created- and Seaforms, undulating forms that conjure underwater life.
The celestial vibrant blue masterpiece Sapphire Star will welcome you as you walk through Victoria Gate.
In a Kew Gardens first, the Temperate House will be home to a brand new, specially designed sculpture inspired by the cathedral space it will inhabit.
A feast of activities
During the exhibition there will also be the Chihuly Family Trail. The trail booklet will be available to children and their families at weekends and school holidays.
Through an exclusive night-time experience, you will see these installations illuminated by an entirely different light on a route taking in some of Kew's most stunning settings.

Welcome Spring With The Beauty Of Camellias
It's time for the annual, spectacular Camellia Show at Chiswick House & Gardens - open from 10 - 3 pm throughout March.
Come and admire the rare and historic Camellias in the Grade 1 listed Conservatory, a gorgeous array of blooms; pink, red, white and striped. Visit the collection of 33 different varieties, many of which are descended from the original planting in 1828. Among them is the unique Middlemist’s red, originally brought from China in 1804 by Londoner John Middlemist, a nurseryman from Shepherds Bush.
We will meet at the Cafe on Wednesday 13 March at 12 pm for coffee or an early lunch, which if warm, can be enjoyed at the outside tables. (NB Food costs are typical of an historic house venue, so please bring your own if this is difficult.) At about 1 pm we will go to the Conservatory to view the Camellias - do bring a camera as they are extremely colourful! DESCRIPTION
This December The Arts Centre Hounslow in association with Ashby & Ryder Pantomimes celebrate the fourth year of their Pantomime collaboration and are proud to present Robin Hood.
Join the legendary tights-wearing hero for a swashbuckling, arrow-slinging comedy adventure!
Robin Hood, the prince of thieves, is on a mission with his merry band of men to get robbin' the rich to feed the poor. Along the way, he meets a strong-willed Maid Marion, and they must undertake a quest to save the poor people of Nottingham from the evil Sherriff who is plotting to steal the crown. Will they save the day?
The 2018 pantomime promises to be packed full of laugh-out-loud comedy routines, show-stopping songs and heaps of audience participation. And remember, why did Robin steal from the rich?....because the poor didn’t have anything worth stealing.
