Brentford Market
Brentford Market is a weekly food market in West London supporting local producers, businesses and farmers. Focusing on high quality food the market offers local people an alternative to the supermarket and a chance to purchase locally sourced, affordable produce. Held every Sunday 10-2pm. The market also aims to provide Brentford with a much needed community space where people can meet for a coffee or share some street food. Rosie Boycott, Chair of the London Food Board said:  “I am delighted that this market has returned to Brentford. As with so many of our High Streets, Brentford no longer has a butcher, fishmonger or green grocer and I think it is vital that Londoners have access to good, affordable, high quality food. Brentford market will also provide a valuable space for people to get together, to meet each other and support community projects and local businesses.” The brain child of local regeneration charity Brentford High Street Steering Group (BHSSG), the market is operated on a not-for-profit basis by the charity offering local businesses, traders and community groups affordable pitches.  The market builds on the success of events hosted in Brentford last year for the Jubilee and Olympic Torch Relay, and the speciality French and Italian food markets.

Hounslow is blessed with some very interesting places to visit, one of them being the Musical Museum located between Brentford & Kew Bridge. It's easily accessible by public transport, the 237, 267 & 65 buses all passing by. There is a free car park but quite small. It also has a tea room & shop. From the tiniest of clockwork music boxes to the Mighty Wurlitzer the collection embraces an impressive and comprehensive array of sophisticated reproducing pianos, orchestrions, orchestrelles, residence organs and violin players. The venue also hosts film shows, Wurlitzer organ concerts, instrument demonstrations, concerts & Tea Dances. Entry costs £10 but with proof of Hounslow residence, you can get 50% discount! Coffee, Cake & A Camera
Come & join me for coffee in a friendly cafe in South St, Isleworth, "South Street Coffee & Ice Cream Shop" which Trip Advisor reviewers say, sell the best home produced cakes, ice cream and food for miles! Photo of South StreetHaving indulged ourselves in a warming treat, we will go for a stroll by the river, admire the scenery and practice taking some lovely photographs, perhaps sharing our creative experience as we go.  If you havn't got a camera don't worry - use your phone, buy a cheap disposable or just join us for the walk. I am not a professional, just a keen amateur but will happily share some tips on composition if required. We will meet at the cafe at 10.45 and leave to walk at 11.30.NB If the weather is 'camera unfriendly' we can go to the South Street Galleries in the historic Lower Square, where local photographers & artists display their work.  Depending on energy, enthusiasm and how much cake gets eaten, if we walk, we will probably stroll for about an hour. NB we will stroll so we can have a good look around so do remember to wear warm clothes, (including socks & gloves) as there's often a wind by the river & standing around can get quite chilly. Lots of activities go on there & there's even a 2nd hand book shop! To find out more, view their web site: http://southstreet.biz/ The cafe is located in the square in Isleworth, though the actual address is:
2 Shrewsbury Walk, Isleworth TW7 7DE

Be there and ....be in the square !

Coffee, Cake & A Camera
Come & join me for coffee in a friendly cafe in South St, Isleworth, "South Street Coffee & Ice Cream Shop" which Trip Advisor reviewers say, sell the best home produced cakes, ice cream and food for miles! Photo of South StreetHaving indulged ourselves in a pre Christmas treat, we will go for a stroll by the river, admire the scenery and practice taking some lovely photographs, perhaps sharing our creative experience as we go.  If you havn't got a camera don't worry - use your phone, buy a cheap disposable or just join us for the walk. I am not a professional, just a keen amateur but will happily share some tips on composition if required.   We will meet at the cafe at 10.45 and leave to walk at 11.30.  Depending on energy, enthusiasm and how much cake gets eaten, we will probably stroll for about an hour. NB we will stroll so we can have a good look around so do remember to wear warm clothes, (including socks & gloves) as there's often a wind by the river & standing around can get quite chilly. Unless it's pouring with rain, icy underfoot or there's a hurricane, we will meet!

Carers Rights Day
Each year Carers UK hold Carers Rights Day to bring organisations across the UK together to help adult carers and parent carers in their local community to know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to.
