New local Wellbeing Network launches first ‘Let’s Connect’ meeting
14 June 2016
New local social network, the Hounslow Wellbeing Network, has announced the details for its first gathering to be known as Let’s Connect meetings. The meetings will be held at 10 School Road, and will take place on the second Thursday of every month from 2pm–4pm.
The Let’s Connect meetings are open to everyone in the Hounslow community, and have been established to develop a network to support the wellbeing of each other and to strengthen our community overall.
Hounslow Wellbeing Network Team Leader Sally Gomme said the idea behind the meetings – and the Network – was to share ideas about what we can gain and offer each other to support our wellbeing.
“This is really about getting together and sharing ideas, thoughts and experiences and to work with the assets and talents of our members,” Sally said.
“It might be that someone wants to start a choir or a walking group, or perhaps has an interest or a skill that they would like to share with the group. Perhaps there might be people out there keen to join a sporting team but don’t want to do it alone… or perhaps they just want to drop in for a chat,” she said.
“We are welcoming everyone to come together to share their knowledge and ideas to support each other to make the most of this great community we live in,” she said.
“There isn’t a set agenda at the meetings – the idea is to build our possibilities as we go, and to design and develop the meetings together in a social and friendly setting.
“People are welcome to come along and stay for the whole session, or can even just pop in briefly to find out more about this exciting new venture – the Hounslow Wellbeing Network.”
There will also be an opportunity for members to request a one-to-one session with a Wellbeing Partner to map out their social network (find out more about social network mapping here).
